Every time I come back to Chicago, I feel like I'm coming home. It's an amazing, beautiful city. It's got some amazing architechture, entertainment, culture and it's quite a diverse city........all the things I love about city living. But I'm quickly reminded of why I moved, when I come to visit over the winter. The winters are brutle here, but the summers make up for it. There are an endless aray of outdoor festivals and concerts, etc. throughout the summers and just to wake up to the view of the lake is amazing.
We took an architechture cruise today and it was great. After living here for almost 5 years, I had never gone on one, but it was a great way to see the city from a different perspective and gain a little knowledge about the city I once called home. It also really made me want a boat.
I am very much looking forward to enjoying my weekend in Chicago.....a little shopping, a little Second City, a little bar hoping to my favorite spots and of course seeing old friends. And somehow we got lucky enough to have some unbelievable weather for our visit. Thank you, to the powers that be..
Now off to have some wine.
